If you ask me, JAPAN is the place to put the Missle Defense System (MDS).
It's a neighbor to North Korea is the main issue, but maybe there is an agreement with the Kim Jong Mentally Ill there to stay OUT of his business since he has decided, just recently, to shut down his nuclear reactor, but we've heard all this before from him.
Japan is not really in the neighborhood of the Middle East, so it may not be so effective against anything launched from Iran, were Iran's Ahmed-the-nutjob nuts enough to launch from the State of Iran. So maybe that wouldn't work.
Well, when my tiny brain FIRST considered the idea of asking the Japanese to serve as a launch site for these purely defensive missles, it made a lot of sense. Now that the BACK of my brain has caught up to the front of my brain, the idea has dimmed a bit. Granted, they would STILL be in Putin's backyard, but jeez!!! His country is 13 time zones wide. EVERYTHING, in Asia, is close to Mother Russia! *laughter*
We look into installing these babies in Eastern Europe, and Putin throws a fit! They may not do us too much good in Western Europe for a couple of reasons one, the MDS launch site would be too far down range of the offensive missles' launch site to make much of a difference and for the MDS to be able to catch up with the perp's missle to destroy it and two, the ninnies in France would want to paint or decorate it so that they can hold a "peace" festival around the MDS launch site.
