This comic cracks me up! The media are out there telling us that we NEED a new Reagan. *dismissive wave* Since GWB has proved himself to be NO REAGAN, according to what the media tell us, and none of the potential candidates on our side seems to be a NEW Reagan from THEIR perspective.
Well, let me ask this of you. Who was our Reagan BEFORE there was a Reagan? Had the media had their way, there wouldn't BE a Reagan, and these goons in the media want us to pick a Reagan before the elections so that they can rip him/her a new one BEFORE the election so that he/she looks as bad as possible so that the media can do the skewering they feel they need to do to "even the playing field." We "conservatives" will just give up and stay home.
This is balderdash! Again, who was our Ronald Reagan BEFORE there was a Ronald Reagan? The media had kicked and bruised the memory of Richard Nixon such that only a fool embraced him at the end of the '70s! This fool would NEVER get elected were he to embrace Nixon, and the media made sure of this.
So, all this media hoopla about "Who is the next Reagan?" is balderdash - B.S. for the more pedestrian among us. The media are just upset that they haven't been able to trash Reagan's memory in the years since GHWB's election in '88 like they did to Nixon, and this is a Quixiotic effort to trash conservative windmills.
