It dawned on me today that we need the French!
Here's why! We need French to convince the people of Saudi Arabia that they can make it on their own sans the ruling family that has kept the country in its shadows for SO many years!
Would this be a clean break? Not likely. You would have the Islamists poking up their heads and pushing the people to embrace Islamofacism. By then, maybe, we'll have the democracies in Iraq and Afghanistan working well and influencing thought among Arabs and Persians in the area also aiding to illustrate to the Saudi people that they CAN make it on their own.
Again, the forms of democracy that these two countries embrace may be NOTHING like what we embrace here in the States. They MAY be independent from one another. Who knows? Only time will tell!
