Who was Reagan BEFORE there was a Reagan?

What irks me these days is what is passing for "journalism" with the accent on "journal" in the term.

Most in the media are asking everyone,

"Who is the next Reagan?"

Well, let me remind you of the election in '80.  Granted, back then, you would have seen me only knee high to a grasshopper, but was there anyone looking for a "Reagan" in '80?  Nope!  Back then, the only lighthouse conservatives had in politics was Richard Nixon, and the media dimmed the intensity of his lighthouse SO much that none of the conservatives back then DARED to use him as a landmark!  Doing so meant becoming "Lost at Sea!"

The media have TRIED to do the same thing with Reagan to diminish the intensity of his light some, since his death only some years ago.  For example, they extrapolated his Alzheimer's back to when he was serving in office by saying, more or less, "look how much he is suffering from Alzheimer's at the end.  If he is suffering THIS much NOW, how much could it have affected him during his presidency?"  Granted, the media didn't SAY this literally, but the insinuations were there.

So they would insinutate further that we conservatives don't need to use Mr. Reagan as our contemporary lighthouse because the light he provided for those eight years in the '80s was "dim by reasons of illness."

Bring it on, pantywaists!  ONE of our guys will get us closer to the promised land.

Back in the '80s, we conservatives didn't have FNC, or as the the other side like to call it "Faux News Channel."  They are so smart with THAT comment and the Gen. "Betrayus" comment too.  Is THIS all they have in their quivers?  Come on, guys and gals of the other side!  Can't you do better than this?  Sure!  We have fun, for example, with the name Sandy Burglar (Berger), but we don't make a political movement (e.g. Moveon.org) out of it, and there are court documents and confessions involving said burglar that the play on his name is VALID!!!  There is NOTHING that Petraeus has done as a commanding officer that gives us ANY motivation to call him a traitor, yet this is THEIR accusation!

What would kill me is to learn Sandy's real name is Sam Berger.  THEN it is SO easy to make the jump from Sam Berger to the Ham Burglar!  Now, THAT would be a funny revelation.

This reminds me SO much of my days as a boy scout!  In my troop back then we had a cabal of about four or five scouts who took it upon themselves, like the Dims of today, to make EVERYONE else's life as a scout in that troop as miserable as possible.  Two of these characters were brothers, and their father served as our troop's scoutmaster for many of the years that saw me participating with the troop until reaching the rank of Eagle Scout and moving on to a local sea scout post instead of the scout troop.

This little cabal kept to itself when it could.  They found themselves spread among the patrols, i.e. they did not participate all in ONE patrol, but they were nothing but a bunch of crybabies.  If they cried loudly enough, one of the fathers or even the scoutmaster himself would come to their aid.  It was pathetic.  My younger brother, who was also in the troop and the last of FOUR Eagle Scouts in my family, had to deal with them more than I because the elder brother of this pair was the same age as my younger brother.

Anyway, the dems of today have taken a shine to this attitude that these fellow scouts seemed to embrace 25 years ago.  They were nothing but crybabies back then, and the dems are nothing but crybabies today!  John Kerry emboddies this attitude to a "T."  Nothing but a crybaby whom somebody always needs to help.
